The National Team of France and Iceland face each other at the Laugardalsvöllur stadium for the seventh match of Group H in the qualifiers for Euro 2020. Forward Olivier Giroud took charge of giving the visitors the first goal.
Prior to the goal, the French star Antoine Griezmann controlled the ball inside the box and prepared to shoot, but was met by Iceland defender Runar Sigurjonsson, who didn't hesitate to make a strong tackle and collided with the 'Principito'.
In response to the incident, the referee didn't hesitate to call the foul in favor of the French. The Barcelona forward had to leave the field injured, but reentered minutes later.
The team led by Didier Deschamps took advantage of one of the few opportunities to open the scoring and scored their first goal. Meanwhile, the home team has struggled to control the ball and has been under pressure in their own half.
