Victor Valdés was announced in July as the coach of Barcelona's Juvenil A team, and nearly four months later he is close to losing his position.

Barcelona is trying to change the internal dynamics of the club starting in 2019. Hiring former players to manage the youth divisions with the club's playing ideology is a priority. That's why Josep María Bartomeu decided to hire Victor Valdés to take charge of the Juvenil A team.

Formed in the Barza, Valdés defended Barcelona's goal since becoming a starter in the 2003-2004 season, winning 21 titles including three Champions Leagues and six La Ligas.

Valdés' contract is until June 2020; however, it has not been what the executives expected. According to Mundo Deportivo, there is a "war" between the youth coaching staff and Victor. Their different views on football create conflict. "The situation is untenable," reports the Spanish media.

Victor Valdés was called to a meeting this Friday due to the discontent in some aspects "that he does not respect". Patrick Kluivert, Jordi Roura, and Aureli Altimira, key members of the staff, urged Valdés to follow the established path so as not to affect the sporting order or the image of the club.

Kluivert explained that Valdés must use the 4-3-3 tactical system because it is Barcelona's style, while Valdés defends the 4-4-2 which he regularly applies. He has also been told that it is necessary to use players that are considered key and are club prospects. Ilaiz Moriva, who was renewed in the summer, is one of them.

Victor's reaction has not been the best. "I make my own team," he explained. He does not intend to listen to Kluivert's requests. They gave him the example of Konrad de la Fuente, who has been one of the best youth players, but was substituted in the Youth League against Borussia Dortmund.

He has been explained that he needs to adapt to the needs of the team. There are complaints that Valdés does not use players who have previously trained or traveled with the Barza B. He has even scheduled afternoon training sessions so that, according to the club, they can be called up to the team.

Barcelona believes that there are only three options to resolve the general discomfort. Victor Valdés presenting his resignation in the next few hours, Bartomeu having a meeting with him, or the matter being referred to a summit with the heads of the technical secretariat.

New youth players for Barcelona?

It's about Dani Olmo. According to the Spanish newspaper Don Balón, the 21-year-old player who currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb has the approval of the Barcelona leaders, especially the Argentine star, as he is a player who spent seven years in the youth system and understands the 'Barcelona ideology'.

Dani Olmo arrived at La Masía in 2007 at only nine years old, coming from Espanyol. He stayed for almost seven years until he decided to make the jump to Croatia in August 2014: at just 16 years old, he signed for Dinamo Zagreb and began to build his career.
