It's been a long time and, on the eve of the launch of the PlayStation 5, Sony reveals that the "x" button on its consoles is not actually an "x". Yes, that's how confused all us veteran gamers are.
Through the official PlayStation UK account, the company explained that the "x" is actually a cross. We were all wrong! At least, we now have a clear idea of how to refer to this button that we'll soon have on the PS5.
The gaming community on social media quickly made the explanation a trending topic on Twitter. And it's because no one understands how what looks like an "x" is actually a "cross" for the company dedicated to the upcoming release of the PS5.
The reason behind Sony, the developer of the future PS5, is the collection of symbols used on the console's controller. Each button is a geometric figure (square, triangle, and circle), so the "x" doesn't make sense because it's a letter. The "cross", on the other hand, is the geometric figure that corresponds to that button.
