The Argentine forward Mauro Icardi will play on loan for the next season at Paris Saint-Germain for his club, Inter Milan, with whom he has been in conflict for months, as reported by "L'Équipe" on their website.

The player will arrive in the French capital this afternoon for a medical check-up and to sign the contract, just a few hours before the transfer market closes.

The newspaper assures that the loan comes with a purchase option and may also include the desired extension of his contract with Inter Milan. This is the issue that had distanced Icardi, 26 years old and author of 124 goals in 219 matches for Inter Milan.

The club wanted him to extend his contract, which ends in 2021, but the player refused, which led to him being excluded from the first team, which is why the player sued Inter Milan in court.

PSG, on the other hand, was looking for an internationally renowned striker to strengthen their attacking sector, weakened by the injuries of Frenchman Kylian Mbappé and Uruguayan Edinson Cavani.

The former will be out for a month and the latter for a shorter period of time, but both are doubts for PSG's first Champions League match, which will take place on September 18 against Real Madrid at Parc des Princes.
