Ghoddos: 4 million for SD Huesca and sanctions for the player and Swedish Östersunds
FIFA has sanctioned Iranian footballer Saman Ghoddos with a four-month suspension and Swedish club Östersunds FK, which will not be able to make signings until January 2021, for the failed transfer of the player to SD Huesca last summer.
In addition, FIFA has set a compensation of 4 million euros for the Spanish Second Division team to be received within 30 days, as reported by the LaLiga SmartBank club.

Östersunds FK ended up transferring the forward to French club Amiens for 4 million euros, despite Ghoddos having previously signed a contract with SD Huesca, which was going to start its first season in the First Division. The sale of the player was the highest in the history of the Swedish club.
The FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber has been investigating since last August when the Spanish team filed a complaint with the world football governing body, as they believed Ghoddos should have worn the shirt of the Aragonese club, as agreed with the player and Östersunds.
Now, the aforementioned FIFA instance has established that the player must pay compensation to SD Huesca. The punishments for the player and the Swedish club to which he belonged when SD Huesca wanted to sign him are based on sections 3 and 5 of Article 17 of the statutes that regulate the transfer of players in the international context, reported the Heraldo de Aragón newspaper.

Unilateral contract termination
This article arbitrates the consequences of the unilateral termination of a professional contract without a justified or contemplated cause in the agreement. The parties have three weeks to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which does not exclude the possibility that the volume of sanctions may increase, according to SD Huesca.
The Iranian was in Huesca and signed his agreement with the team before returning to Sweden and, once back, backing out. Huesca understands that the reason was that Östersunds preferred to reach an agreement with Amiens because it was more lucrative economically, according to Heraldo.
The document signed by Saman Ghoddos and then president and CEO Agustín Lasaosa on August 7, 2018, included a four-year contract that Amiens later extended by one more.
40 million clause
SD Huesca argued that it was clearly a case of duplication of a labor contract and demanded economic compensation based on the 40 million clause that the Iranian would have had, explains Heraldo de Aragón.
