The Paris Saint Germain (PSG) accepts the proposal made by Barcelona to include another player in the deal for Neymar, but in exchange for the Brazilian star, they want it to be two players and also a check of at least 100 million euros, and that's where the two clubs clash, according to L'Équipe.
The French sports newspaper indicates this Thursday that the PSG sporting director, Leonardo, quickly rejected the idea of a loan with a purchase option presented to him by the representatives of Barça at the meeting held with them in Paris last Tuesday.
Regarding the second option for Neymar to return to the Catalan capital (a player and a check), Leonardo set as one of his conditions to receive more than 100 million euros in order to make another acquisition before the end of the transfer market.
In particular, considering that in 2017 the French team had to pay 222 million euros for him, they would want those 100 million and two players, but not just anyone.
The PSG would agree to Philippe Coutinho (27 years old), Nelson Semedo (25) and Ousmane Dembélé (22), but not Ivan Rakitic (31), since this summer they have already signed two midfielders, Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera.
The problem is that Barcelona is not willing to give up two of those players: Coutinho alone is valued at 120 million euros. And even less willing to add 100 million because at the moment they do not have them, after the operations they have carried out in recent weeks, and especially the purchase of Antoine Griezmann for 120 million.
In the face of this situation, the discussions have not advanced at all on Wednesday and they are not expected to make progress during the meeting of the executive committee of the Association of European Clubs held this Thursday and Friday in Liverpool.
Although the president of PSG, Nasser al-Khelaïfi, will attend, his counterpart from Barça, Josep Bartomeu, will not be present.
Meanwhile, Neymar trains separately from the other PSG players because he has his own recovery program from the injury he has been carrying since June.
According to Le Parisien, given his particular situation with the negotiations for his possible transfer, it is not expected that he will be called up for PSG's second league match next Sunday against Rennes, just like he was not called up last weekend against Reims. (EFE)
