Words from a blaugrana legend. Rivaldo, former player of FC Barcelona and Deportivo, among others, made it clear that he would not see Neymar's transfer to Real Madrid before the end of the summer transfer market as "a betrayal".

"If he signs for Real Madrid, I wouldn't see it as a betrayal after leaving Barcelona to sign for PSG and now flying to Madrid. That's not directly leaving your team to strengthen the eternal enemy. It's not betrayal for me," clarified the Brazilian.

However, Rivaldo's desires don't go the same way: "I would prefer him to sign for Barcelona and I bet that if he has the opportunity to return to a place where he has been happy and where he knows most of his teammates, he would surely love it. But of course, that depends on the offer Barcelona makes," added Rivaldo in an interview with Betfair.

"PSG won't accept a worse offer from Barcelona for Neymar just because Neymar wants to go there. They won't lose money and, obviously, they will only accept the best offer," pointed out the Brazilian world champion.

Still, according to the Brazilian, in Madrid he could also "find his football". "What's clear is that both giants want him and that surely makes Neymar even more anxious to leave Paris," he added.

In case the Brazilian winger joins Real Madrid, rumors have emerged that Vinícius Junior's position would be at risk, although Rivaldo doesn't see it that way: "Any player his age would be delighted to learn from Neymar or Hazard. They could help him in his career," he reflected.

"It doesn't make sense for him to consider leaving to another club to play more often. Instead, he should continue working and learning every day, waiting for his chance to prove his worth," he detailed.
