Commission of Ethics of Conmebol to Issue Ruling Against Lionel Messi

The Commission of Ethics of Conmebol will issue its ruling against Argentine player Lionel Messi, who referred to the South American football governing body as "corrupt", next week.

"Next week, the ruling on Messi's statements will be released. He would be given a six-month suspension and he may serve these months during FIFA dates," revealed ESPN journalist Diego Monroy this afternoon.

"Messi would miss: Argentina vs Chile, Argentina vs Mexico, in September. In October, he would miss, Germany vs Argentina and Argentina vs the Basque Country selection; and in November, Argentina vs Saudi Arabia and Argentina vs Brazil," added the press representative.

If the statements made by journalist Diego Monroy on the ESPN FC program are confirmed, Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini, 32, would not be able to be considered for the matches of the Argentine National Football Team for the remainder of 2019.

The Argentine player received a one-match suspension and a $1500 fine from Conmebol for his expulsion against Chile in the third-place match of the 2019 Copa America, which prompted his statements against the South American football governing body.
