No one expected this from 'Trezegol'. An embarrassing incident occurred in the early morning of Thursday in the city of Turin, where David Trezeguet was arrested by the local police for driving under the influence of alcohol. Later, he insulted the officers and had his driver's license revoked.
David Trezeguet, former forward of Juventus and the French National Team, had participated in a wine tasting event with his former teammate Mauro Camoranesi on the outskirts of Turin and was stopped by the police on Via Po', according to local media reports.
"Beggars, poor people. They don't even earn 2,000 euros per month," said Trezeguet to the law enforcement officers, who had to insist for the former striker to submit to a test.
Initially, the Frenchman requested an hour before taking the test, but eventually he agreed to the officers' requests, albeit with insults.
David Trezeguet, who scored 171 goals in 320 matches for Juventus and also played in the Spanish league with Hercules, was returning to Turin with his car alongside Camoranesi after spending the night in the town of Monforte d'Alba, where they had dinner and tasted some bottles of Barolo, a famous Piedmontese wine.
