Serbian coach Sinisa Mihajlovic started his therapies to cure his acute myeloid leukemia in Italy, his club announced in an official statement. The coach revealed his illness last Saturday.
Mihajlovic, who had a successful spell with Inter Milan, has been hospitalized since Monday and has started chemotherapy treatments. He is under the doctors' control and, despite "undergoing tests and therapies, he is in daily contact with his colleagues" at the Bolonia training camp in Castelrotto, explained the team.
Sinisa Mihajlovic has received thousands of supportive messages in the past few days from friends, players, and fans, who encourage him to recover soon and return to his profession.
In his career, Mihajlovic has coached Bolonia, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan, Torino, Sporting Lisbon, and the Serbian national team. As a player, the Serbian played in Italy for Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio, and Inter, after growing up in his country with Vojvodina and Estrella Roja.
