Come back to stay. Spanish left back Marc Cucurella was announced this Tuesday as the ''new'' player of Barcelona, after the 'blaugrana' team exercised their buy-back option for one of LaLiga's most promising 'jewels'. The lefty, loaned to Eibar last season, will fight for a starting spot on the 'culé' side against his compatriot Jordi Alba.
"FC Barcelona has exercised the buy-back clause for Marc Cucurella, who played on loan at Eibar last season, for 4 million euros. The Basque club exercised the buy option at the end of the 2018/19 season for a value of 2 million euros", the club said in a statement through all its official channels and accounts, regarding its ''new'' signing.

When everything seemed to indicate that Barcelona could soon announce a player with the press like Junior Firpo or Filipe Luis, the 'Azulgrana' surprised everyone with the addition of their former academy player from a few years ago: Marc Cucurella. Let's remember that the left back has already played 54 matches with Barca's reserve team in a couple of seasons and, in addition, he has already debuted with the first team in 2017, in a Copa del Rey match against Murcia.
With the arrival of Cucurella, Barcelona's squad begins to take shape for this new football season in Europe, as little by little it is already filling certain 'gaps' that played a trick on them last season, such as the case of the team's left back, Jordi Alba, not having a backup player to relieve him of the burden of matches. However, now everything has changed and the 'culé' will go for glory again.
Moltes gràcies @cucurella3! Eskerrik asko!
