The former Brazilian coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, will return to coach Palmeiras, which is having an irregular performance in the league, and a few hours earlier had announced the dismissal of Roger Machado.
Scolari "signed a contract with the club until 2020. It will be the third time that the coach commands the Palmeiras team," the club highlighted on Thursday night in a statement in which they recall that the coach has already coached 'Verdao' from 1997 to 2000 and from 2010 to 2012.
'Felipao', 69 years old, is in Portugal "resolving the final details for his return to Brazil," and will present himself "next week," the club said.

With Scolari in charge, Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores in 1999, the Copa de Brasil in 1998 and 2012, the Copa Mercosur in 1998, and the Rio-Sao Paulo tournament in 2000. Assistant coaches Paulo Turra and Carlos Pracidelli will join Scolari's team.
The former coach, who led the 'canarinha' that suffered a resounding defeat at home in the 2014 World Cup with the famous 7-1 against Germany, will not be available to coach the match against Paraná on Sunday. In his place, sub-20 coach Wesley Carvalho will be in charge.
Palmeiras, currently seventh in the Brasileirao after the fifteenth round, announced this morning the dismissal of Machado after the 1-0 defeat against Fluminense on Wednesday.
