The return of Sir Alex Ferguson
Former Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson has reappeared after a brain surgery and thanked for the support in a video shared by the 'red devils' on Facebook. The images, in which the coach is seen recovered, have quickly spread around the world.
"Hello, just a quick message, first of all to thank the medical staff of Macclesfield, Salford Royal and Alexandra hospitals," said Ferguson. "Believe me, without those people who provided me with great care, I wouldn't be sitting here today. So, thank you for me and my family. Thank you very much," he added.
Ferguson, 76, suffered a brain hemorrhage in May and had to be admitted to Salford Royal Hospital. Immediately after, several figures from the football world such as David Beckham and Paul Scholes, as well as fans from around the world, gave messages of support to the former Manchester United coach, who won the Champions League twice with the team.
"It has made me feel very humble, as all the messages I have received from around the world have wished me the best and the good wishes resonate very, very strongly with me, so thank you for the support you have given me," he said.
"Lastly, I will be back later in the season to see the team. In the meantime, all the best to Jose and the players. Thank you very much," he concluded on Facebook.
Sir Alex Ferguson, despite retiring in 2013, remains the most successful coach in British football, with 49 trophies won. He won 38 of them with Manchester United, more than any other coach in the history of English football: 13 Premier League titles, as well as five FA Cups and two Champions League titles.
