Leonardo Bonucci set to join PSG
It is only a matter of time until it becomes official and Milan accepts the terms. According to Italian media outlet 'Corriere dello Sport,' Leonardo Bonucci will defend PSG this upcoming season. The outlet has also revealed the astronomical salary that the central defender will earn in the Parisian team.
It is reported that Bonucci will sign the best contract of his career, earning a whopping 10 million euros per season, plus possible bonuses for achieving objectives. Additionally, he will have the opportunity to compete in the Champions League once again, something that he will not be able to do with Milan due to the club's UEFA financial fair play violation.
Bonucci's agent, Alessandro Lucci, has already met with Milan's executives Fassone and Mirabelli to express Bonucci's desire to leave the club. Following that meeting, the agent traveled to Paris to negotiate directly with PSG's sporting director, Henrique Antero, regarding the player's new salary and contract.
Now, all that remains is for PSG to send a formal offer to the Italian club to finalize the agreement. It is worth mentioning that Bonucci was the flagship signing for Milan last season. However, due to the club's UEFA financial fair play violation, they are facing difficulties in planning for the new season and, above all, retaining their key players.
In addition to signing Buffon, PSG is building a truly luxurious squad. They have strengthened their defense with Bonucci and boast an attacking trio comprised of Neymar, Cavani, and Mbappé.
