Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, welcomed the former Real Sociedad player. "Álvaro Odriozola is a great player. Many clubs wanted him, but he was very clear about where he wanted to be," stated the director.

Odriozola highlighted that he is currently experiencing one of the best moments of his professional career and described everything that has unexpectedly happened in the last two years with clubs and the Spanish national team.

"I always say that the last year and a half has been like a movie script. I debuted with Sanse in the Second Division B and shortly after became a starter with the Real's first team, then I went to the World Cup and now I fulfill the dream of wearing the Real Madrid jersey. It's a day I will never forget," he concluded.
