With the commitment to Emelec, El Nacional begins a cycle of "important games", in which it will seek recovery after a streak of negative results. The team closes the stage at Capwell and immediately goes to Argentina for their second phase game in the Sudamericana Cup.

The squad arrives battered by injuries and accumulated defeats in the last matches, hence facing these days of competition represents "a significant challenge for the team, but it's what we like, to show that the team is up to the task," commented coach Eduardo Favaro.

With a squad weakened by injuries, for a total of five absences, the Uruguayan strategist emphasized that he will not "hold back" efforts. "We will give our best with what we have for each match," he said.

El Nacional's journey begins today against Emelec, then the trip to Argentina to visit Defensa y Justicia on Wednesday, upon their return they will visit Barcelona at the start of the second stage, and on July 25th they have a rematch with the Argentine team.

"We trust the squad we have to quickly overcome these negative results. In every match, we will give our best, we won't hold back, we have enough time to recover the team, in every match we will give our best," said Favaro.

Preciado, recovered

Against El Nacional, the return of forward Ayrton Preciado will be marked, who has recovered from an injury and is at the disposal of coach Mariano Soso.

With the presence of Preciado, the blues will reinforce a system that the Argentine coach seeks to strengthen in the team, in which forwards Marlon De Jesús and Brayan Angulo will repeat, authors of the goals with which Emelec drew (2-2) during a visit to Macará.

"We are growing, what we seek is not to suffer so much in the transitions from defense to attack, and to be clearer in the construction of the game, in order to control matches and harm the opponent," commented the millionaire strategist. (D)
