Russia's Performance Raises Suspicions of Doping
The Russia national team has started to raise suspicions among various European media outlets due to its great performance in the World Cup. This is because the FIFA has previously covered up doping by Russian footballers, as reported by the English newspaper "Mail On Sunday".
However, the FIFA has denied any accusations, but England claims to have evidence and even a name: Ruslan Kambolov, who was part of the Russian national team's preliminary list, but was eventually excluded. Suspicion arises because Russia, which is one of the worst ranked teams according to the FIFA and in the last EuroCup, reached the quarterfinals suspiciously displaying great physical performance from all its players.
Salamovich Cherchesov, Russia's coach, assured in different media outlets that the great performance of his players is due to their motivation to play in the World Cup. The Russians will face Croatia in the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
