Juventus wins Italian double, sets sights on Kovacic
Juventus achieved the Italian double this season. However, their goal was to win the Champions League, but they were eliminated controversially by Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. One of the players who took them out of the way was the Croatian Mateo Kovacic, who is now on Juventus' radar for the next season.
This was reported on Tuesday by the Italian newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. The mentioned media from the Italian capital indicates that Juventus would have around 55 million euros set aside to make an offer to Real Madrid for Mateo Kovacic. Even the same Bianconeri coach praised him last season.
"Despite his youth, I believe that Kovacic has a great future ahead. He has extraordinary qualities and is one of the few who can take the ball from a rival player with his first touch," said Massimiliano Allegri at the time.
It is also indicated that Juventus would have 230 million to spend for the 2018-19 season. In addition to a consolidated midfielder, their objectives include a forward and a central defender.
As it is well known, Mateo Kovacic arrived at Real Madrid from Inter Milan in mid-2015. With the Madrid shirt, he has won almost everything: Champions League, La Liga, Super Cups, and Club World Cup. The Copa del Rey remains pending for him.
