The nutritionist of the Mexican national team takes care of every detail

Part of the success of the Mexican national team lies in the discipline of Javier "Chicharito" Hernández, the hydration of Miguel Layún, and the positive way in which Andrés Guardado receives dietary advice.

This was affirmed by Beatriz Boullosa, the nutritionist of the Tricolor, who will supervise the players' nutrition in Russia, a fundamental element on their journey in the World Cup.

"With Miguel Layún, we are aware of his hydration. Every product he receives, whether from the club or suggested by someone else, he always asks me what I think," explained Beatriz in an interview published on the "Coca-Cola Journey" website.

Regarding Hernández, the top scorer for the English club West Ham United, she detailed that he is "super disciplined, conscious of his nutrition for many years, and has tried different alternatives."

The expert explained that she has supported "Chicharito" because "everyone has to find what works and what doesn't."

"He is receptive and attentive to trends that help him feel better," she expressed.

About Guardado, the nutrition expert said that "he is a guy who is respected, who imposes and makes a difference." She mentioned that the Real Betis player accepted her advice and helped her access the group, which she appreciates.

Three weeks before the start of the World Cup, all menus have already been prepared, and the logistics team is working on transporting all the raw materials that chef Fernando Parra will use to prepare the food at Mexico's training camp.

"I have already made the entire menu and we are taking all the ingredients with us: the flour to make tortillas, as well as several dry ingredients to make sauces, because Mexicans cannot live without a touch of chili," said Parra.

Beatriz Boullosa, who has been working with the Mexican team since 2010, said that they shouldn't give any advantage to their rivals, so the players must take care of their sleep hours and hydration. Monitoring recovery between matches will also be key to better performance in Russia.

"In this type of tournament, as the World Cup progresses, the days between matches become shorter and you have less time for muscle fibers to recover," added Boullosa Moreno.

The work with each player is individualized and depends on their playing position.

According to Beatriz, president of the Mexican Federation of Sports Nutrition, the goalkeeper "handles a different type of stress," as they need to work on "attention to maintain a fixed gaze" and be alert to "have an extremely efficient reaction capacity."

About Mexico's goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who plays for Standard Liège in Belgium, she also said that he is "super disciplined." She mentioned that "you see him in the gym early, a wonderful level of awareness of his nutrition."

Beatriz is attentive to the incorporation of the players who arrive at the High-Performance Center of the Mexican national team located in the south of Mexico City. She will travel to Los Angeles tomorrow, where the Mexican national team will play a match against Wales at the Rose Bowl on May 28. She will return to Mexico for the farewell match of the Tricolor coached by Juan Carlos Osorio against Scotland on June 2 at the Estadio Azteca. - EFE
