Barcelona Star Lionel Messi Will Not Travel to Levante
Barcelona star Lionel Messi will not travel to the Levante stadium on Sunday to play the 37th and penultimate match of the Santander League, in which the Catalan club secured the title at the end of April.
Messi is not included in the 18-player roster by coach Ernesto Valverde to travel to the Ciutat de Valencia stadium, where Barcelona will try to continue their unbeaten streak. They aim to become the first team since the 1930s to finish the championship without a loss.
In the race for the top scorer title, Messi has scored 34 goals and has a wide lead over his competitors.
French player Samuel Umtiti, who was absent in the 5-1 victory against Villarreal on Wednesday due to knee pain, will also not travel to Valencia.
