"He was an unexpected child, due to our economic limitations, but he has ended up being a gift from heaven. Cristiano is a reward. When he was born, he became a force for everyone. He is like a little Jesus who comes home. He was the least expected, but he has been the most blessed."
What was Cristiano like as a child and how did his father influence him?
"Perfectionist? Cristiano has always been like that, he has constantly sought to be the best, to give his all to win. Apart from this, he was very reserved."
"His father was very important; he was sure that Cristiano would be the best in the world. When he joined Manchester United, at 18, he would say to him: 'You are going to be the best goalscorer in the world' and Cristiano would reply: 'I may be the best player, but I am not the top goalscorer'. Then his father would say to him: 'Are you going to bet? He pushed him to convince himself of his qualities'".

When will he retire?
