The world of football and Manchester United fans smile again with the latest update on Alex Ferguson's condition
According to the Daily Mail and a special envoy from the Gazzetta dello Sport, 'Fergie' would have come out of the coma he was induced into after undergoing emergency surgery following a stroke last Saturday.
"The next month will be crucial for Alex and his recovery. However, it is estimated that the recovery will be long since his age is an obstacle for a quick return to normality," said Hamlyn, referring to the most important coach in Manchester United's history, who will turn one year older on December 31.
Until the news about the Scottish coach's health became known, the 'Mirror' had contacted Peter Hamlyn, a neurosurgeon who assured that Ferguson's recovery will be lengthy due to his advanced age, and it is that Sir Alex's 76 years of life begin to take their toll.
"Next month will be crucial for Alex and his recovery. However, it is estimated that the recovery will be long since his age is an obstacle for a quick return to normality," said Hamlyn, referring to the most important coach in Manchester United's history, who will turn one year older on December 31.
However, information about Ferguson's condition continues to be reserved as the Scottish family requested that 'Fergie's' privacy be respected in the first statement issued by Manchester United regarding the situation of their former coach.
In recent days, messages of support for Alex Ferguson have poured in from former Manchester United players and former members of his coaching staff, who also wished him a speedy recovery. Thierry Henry, Unai Emery, Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool, Michael Carrick, and most of the current 'Red Devils,' among others, have also shown their support.
Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to aid his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter.
