Jose Mourinho, coach of Manchester United
ensured today that there is "no chance" of Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea leaving Old Trafford next summer.
De Gea, recently named best goalkeeper in the Premier League for the fifth time, is out of contract with United in June 2019, although the club has an option to extend it for another year.
The Spanish international, 27 years old, who has been linked in recent seasons with Real Madrid, will not leave United in the summer, said Mourinho confidently.
"There is no possibility that he will leave," replied the Portuguese coach when asked about the continuity of the former Atlético de Madrid player.
David de Gea, who has spent seven seasons at Old Trafford, where he arrived from Atlético de Madrid, is the strong favorite to win his fifth Premier League Golden Glove and has been named best goalkeeper of the year in England for the fifth time, the fourth consecutively.
This season, the Madrid native has managed to keep his goal in 21 games, 17 of them in the Premier League, and is two ahead of the Brazilian Ederson from Manchester City, with four matchdays remaining.
