The captain of Liverpool, Jordan Henderson, expressed his satisfaction this Tuesday for the "good game" of his team in the 5-2 victory over Roma, but regretted having "gifted two goals" to the Italian team, something that "you can't do" in the Champions League.
"We are disappointed with the two goals conceded. We gifted them, and you can't do that in the Champions League. But I'm happy because we played well, we won the game and we go there with a three-goal difference," Henderson said.
"They turned around an adverse result against Barcelona, one of the best teams in the world, in the last round, so we know it will be difficult, a real challenge. However, we will go to Rome with confidence and hoping to reach the final," the midfielder pointed out in statements to BT Sport.
Jürgen Klopp's team, who led 5-0 at one point, saw Eusebio Di Francesco's men, through Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti, score two goals late in the game, giving them a slight chance in the tie.
"I don't think we lost control. We didn't play football that well, although we had chances. We gifted them Dzeko's goal and that made us tremble a little. The penalty they scored afterwards was controversial. But as I said, we have to be confident, because we played 70 very good minutes," Henderson explained.
