Arsenal disappoints in the European season
Arsenal has disappointed in the European season that is about to end. It did not fight for the Premier League and only has the Europa League left as consolation for Arsene Wenger, although it has Atletico Madrid as a tough rival in the semifinals. Who is now positioned to replace him as the coach of the London club is Luis Enrique, former coach of Barcelona.
The English newspaper The Telegraph indicates this. The British media mentions that Luis Enrique has gained ground within the Arsenal board. In the 'gunner' team, they already see Wenger with an expiration date on the bench, especially due to the irregular results in recent seasons.
Arsenal's contract with Wenger ends in mid-2019 and his credit has practically run out. However, other media in England mention that if he wins the Europa League at the end of the season, he could end his contract at the Emirates Stadium. If not in July, Luis Enrique could take over in the middle of next year.
It is also important to consider that other major European clubs are hoping to secure the services of the former 'Barza'. Both Chelsea and PSG want him. Thus, Antonio Conte would leave the 'blues', while the Spaniard would bid farewell to the Parc des Princes.
Another one who also has options - although scarce - is Patrick Vieira, a living legend of Arsenal. Currently, the former player works as the coach of the New York City in the MLS, where he manages Peruvian defender Alexander Callens.
