Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal will undergo a minor operation on his right knee, which will prevent him from playing with Bayern Munich in the upcoming matches.
This was confirmed on Monday by Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes during the club's press conference, where he recalled that the injury occurred during Sunday's training session.
"I have spoken with Dr. Hans Wilhlem Müller-Wohlfahrt. An MRI was done. Arturo has loose bodies in his knee that prevent him from fully extending his leg," Heynckes said.
According to Heynckes, Vidal has traveled to a clinic in Augsburg where he will undergo arthroscopy by orthopedist Ulrich Boenisch.
"Arturo will definitely be out for the next few games," Heynckes said.
Vidal will be absent tomorrow in the DFB Cup semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen, probably also on Saturday in the Bundesliga against Hannover, and next week against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.
Without @kingarturo23 in the Copa semi-final against @bayer04_es.
Get well soon, Arturo!
