A Recital. The triumph of the Chilean Women's National Team

The Chilean Women's National Team defeated Peru by 5-0 in a match valid for Group A of the Copa America, which is taking place in the country and allows them to remain undefeated and qualify for the final phase of the tournament.

The national team was superior from the first minute against the Peruvian team at the Francisco Sanchez Rumoroso Bicentennial Stadium in Coquimbo. However, the first goal was scored only on the 29th minute with a beautiful volley by Yanara Aedo.

After the first goal, Chile continued to dominate and at the 37th minute Yesenia Lopez scored a goal from outside the area, breaking the resistance of the Peruvian goalkeeper.

In the second half, Chile did not slow down and sought to extend their advantage, which they achieved almost twice: in the 62nd minute, Francisca Lara scored the third goal, and in the 66th minute, Yanara Aedo scored her second goal of the match.

Finally, at the 85th minute, María José Rojas, one of the standout players of the team, scored the fifth goal after an extraordinary individual play by Karen Araya.

With this result, Chile reaches 8 points and qualifies as the second team of the group, after Colombia, to the next phase of the Copa America, also remaining undefeated. Additionally, the Chilean team secured their qualification to the 2019 Pan American Games by reaching the final round of the tournament.

However, out of these four teams that will be in the next phase, the two finalists will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
