Seville -
Lewandowski, Müller, James Rodriguez, Robben or Ribery are some of the men that Sevilla will find at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium in their first-leg match of the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, in search of qualifying for the semifinals of the most prestigious European competition for the first time.
Sevilla and Bayern will face each other this Tuesday, starting at 1:45 PM in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru / 7:45 PM in Spain, and it will be broadcasted by Fox Sports (in Ecuadorian territory).
But Bayern's numbers could shake Sevilla's hope; since the German championship resumed in January, the Bavarians have played 13 games, in 7 of them they have scored 4 or more goals. Including a 5-0 against Besiktas in the Champions League round of 16. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has scored two hat-tricks and a brace in his last five games as a starter.
History and experience favor the German team, led by 72-year-old coach Jupp Heynckes. The Munich team is playing their seventh consecutive quarter-finals in the Champions League, while Sevilla has not reached this stage of the competition since 1958, in the now extinct European Cup.
However, Bayern has not been performing well in Spain, where they have lost in their last five away games.
Since winning the 2013 Champions League, Bayern has been eliminated four times by a Spanish team.
Bayern arrives at this match in great form, after humiliating Borussia Dortmund 6-0 in the Bundesliga, while Sevilla finished with a 2-2 draw against Barcelona in a match they were winning 2-0 with five minutes to go.
