Neymar will return to Paris in two or three weeks, says Unai Emery
Unai Emery, the Spanish coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), announced that Brazilian forward Neymar, who is recovering from an ankle injury in his native country, will return to the French capital in two or three weeks to rejoin the team.
They are waiting for him
"I spoke to him this week. He is fine, calm. We talked about the final (of the League Cup). He will be paying attention to it. And then he will return in two or three weeks," Emery declared from the Matmut Atlantique stadium in Bordeaux, where PSG will face Monaco on Saturday in the French League Cup final.
The Spanish coach, however, avoided specifying a return date for his star player. Neymar, who became the most expensive footballer in the world last summer with PSG paying €222 million to Barcelona, has been out of action for the Parisian club since February 25, when he suffered an ankle and fifth metatarsal injury against Marseille. The estimated recovery time was up to three months.
Neymar missed the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid, which Madrid won 2-1, and underwent surgery on March 3 at a clinic in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Since then, he has been resting in his native country while waiting to be ready at least for the World Cup in Russia, which starts on June 14.
