Marco Verratti denied all rumors linking him to FC Barcelona and indicated that he will still be at Paris Saint-Germain next season. Due to comments made in various European media regarding an offer from his agent to the Catalan club, the 25-year-old midfielder stated that he intends to win important things with the team led by Unai Emery and does not intend to change clubs.
"I have read that Mino Raiola, my agent, offered me to Barcelona and that is false. I have spoken with the PSG directors and they know what I think, things are clear and I have decided to stay. I am determined to win with PSG, which has also helped me grow as a person," Verratti told Italian newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'.
Similarly, the midfielder born in Pescara spoke about the red card he received in the 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League and acknowledged that his reaction was not the most correct. However, he criticized the fact that players like Lionel Messi have similar attitudes towards referees and do not even receive a yellow card.
"I made a mistake against Madrid, it was a red card out of frustration but sometimes referees could be more tolerant. I had a bad reaction but I didn't insult anyone, while Messi protests by pointing his finger in the face of the referee and doesn't even get a booking. However, I know I have to improve in that aspect," he concluded.
