Veriato had her first professional fight at Mr. Cage 34 in Manaos. Her opponent was Railson Paixao and she managed to win the match by unanimous decision.
The MMA fighter secured her victory with submissions and ground work. She even managed to execute a couple of armbars, but Paixao managed to escape. Finally, she obtained the necessary points to win.
Thus, Anne Veriato became the first transgender woman to become a professional. This has made her very popular on YouTube, where videos of her training are posted.
Despite the fact that the Brazilian went through the transition, she does not want to compete against other female fighters. "It doesn't seem fair to me. I'm good at what I do and I have always defeated men, now it won't be different," she said.
