The birth of Ciro is the reason why Leo Messi will not play in Malaga. The club announced the absence of the Argentine number ten, citing "personal reasons", and his replacement in the squad by Colombian Yerry Mina.

A month ago, the Messis announced the name of the baby through a video on Instagram stories, as well as that the birth was expected in early March.

Ciro will be the third son of Leo Messi and Antonella Rocuzzo, who got married in Rosario, Argentina on June 30, 2017. Their first child was Thiago, born in 2012, and the second is named Mateo (2015).

The Barcelona expedition is already in Malaga, where they arrived around 12:30 and then settled in a hotel to wait for the match that will start at 8:45 PM.
