This 2018 has been a roller coaster for André Carrillo. The Peruvian winger was a regular in the English Watford until two market events changed everything: first, Javi Gracia took over as the coach replacing Marco Silva, and second, Gerard Deulofeu arrived from FC Barcelona, entering the starting lineup and relegating him to the bench.
Since the end of January, Carrillo has played less than half an hour in the Premier League spread over three matches, watching as the Spanish midfielder was chosen ahead of him in all those occasions. But everything changed at the half hour mark of the Watford-Everton this past weekend. Deulofeu got injured and Gracia replaced him with the 'Bicolor' player, who played well in the final stretch of the match.
Both the Spanish and the English team confirmed the injury, which will leave him out for several matches: "Unfortunately I will be out for a while but I will work very hard to come back and play soon," Deulofeu stated on his social media.
With just two and a half months left until the World Cup in Russia and with Carrillo as a regular in Ricardo Gareca's list, it seems that Watford will trust him again for the wing, something crucial for him to arrive in top form for the World Cup.
