Alvaro Morata criticised for his reaction to being dropped for Chelsea’s clash against Barcelona
Glenn Hoddle has criticised Alvaro Morata’s reaction to being dropped for Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
Antonio Conte surprisingly started Eden Hazard as Chelsea’s central attacker for the match against the La Liga leaders, with both Morata and Olivier Giroud named as substitutes.
Morata, who has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances this season, has recently been sidelined with a back injury.
Before the game started, Hoddle was standing on the touchline at Stamford Bridge claimed that Morata appeared dejected as he headed towards the pitch to begin his warm-up.
‘Yeah, his attitude wasn’t great walking out [to the warm-up],’ he told BT Sport.
‘Giroud’s was alright, to be fair to him.
‘One of them would have thought they would be starting today.’
