Fabio Coentrao's fall in a match against Sporting Lisboa
Against the ground, and about to eat grass. That's how Fabio Coentrao ended up in a particular play in the match between Sporting Lisboa for the first leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. The video, of course, was uploaded to YouTube. The Portuguese had a very bad time and the news was reported in various sports media.
'Dragones' player Ricardo Pereira attacked on the right side and confronted Fabio Coentrao, who retreated instead of marking. It only took a few seconds for the Porto player to make a quick move, and the movement made the former Real Madrid player lose control and fall, as seen on YouTube.
Fabio Coentrao, with his arms open, collapsed as Pereira continued the action 15 minutes into the first half at Estadio Do Dragao, as seen on YouTube. In the end, Porto took the victory 1-0 thanks to a goal by Tiquinho after an assist from Sergio Oliveira.
In the same match, Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas played his 100th game with the Porto jersey in the victory against Sporting Portugal (1-0) in the Portuguese Cup, a tournament he plays as a starter after becoming the team's second goalkeeper.
In just three seasons, Casillas has become the second Spanish player with the most matches played wearing the blue and white jersey, only surpassed by his teammate Iván Marcano, who has played 142.
