After receiving the invitation from the Lebanese National Team, Lobos BUAP's forward, Jerónimo Amione, confirmed that after reaching an agreement with the respective Federation, in March, during the FIFA dates, he will wear the shirt of said nation, completely renouncing to defend the tricolor cause in the senior category.
"We are already in the process of being considered for the March FIFA dates, we are about to close that, that is also a topic that motivates me a lot. From the Federation there, they approached me to see if I wanted to play with them, we talked and we reached an agreement that it was the best for me and I will be there soon with the Lebanese National Team."
He pointed out that although years ago he wore the national jersey in the Pan American Games, that does not interfere with his process of joining the Lebanese team, since the call was made in a lower division, so FIFA has no problem in giving his approval for this change, given his ancestry.
"As youth teams, what was done in the Pan American Games does not count because they are not official for FIFA, the regulations allow me to decide if I would play at that time for Mexico, but since there has been no approach there, I made the decision that with Lebanon it is important for me and I think it will be a good experience," he said.
