Renato Sanches is one of the players who excited the fans all over the world after his transfer to Bayern Munich for 35 million euros. The Portuguese, now 21 years old, left Benfica for a new European adventure.
He didn't get any playing time at Bayern Munich and the management informed him that he would be loaned. The Portuguese had no problem with this, as he thought he would be in a top team, but it didn't turn out that way. Days later, he was told that he would go to Swansea in the Premier League to get playing time, and from that moment on, his motivation dropped. His former coach at Swansea spoke about the player's situation.
"At first, he thought he would go to Manchester United, PSG, or Chelsea, but Bayern refused and told him that in those cases, the same thing would happen. He wouldn't play and they didn't want that," explained Paul Clemente.
"In training, he was the best. He did incredible things that no one else could match. The problem was in competition. There, he would make constant mistakes and always repeat the same errors. He wouldn't learn," said the Englishman.
Renato Sanches is currently injured and going through one of the worst moments of his career. "He has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is much more affected than I thought he would be at the beginning," Clement concluded.
