End of the soap opera
After much speculation about the future of young goalkeeper of Athletic de Bilbao and the Spanish national team Kepa, the goalkeeper's destiny will finally be at San Mamés. This has just been announced by the Basque team through an official statement.
Linked endlessly with Real Madrid as an alternative to occupy the Santiago Bernabéu goal, different media even suggested the possibility that the European champion would pay the €20m buy-out clause to make him their only winter signing this month. However, Zinedine Zidane's commitment to his current squad has closed the door to the 23-year-old player from joining the merengue team.
With the World Cup on the horizon, and facing the possibility of not playing again until the end of the season, the goalkeeper has finally decided to extend his contract with Athletic de Bilbao until June 30, 2025, becoming one of the highest paid players in the squad. His buy-out clause now stands at €80m.
Athletic Club and the player @kepa_46 have signed the renewal agreement by which the player will remain with the rojiblanco until June 30, 2025. The buy-out clause will be €80 million. #athletic
