That a free kick goal is one of a footballer's specialties speaks of his outstanding technical skills when it comes to handling the ball. Just like a one-on-one in which you outwit the goalkeeper with a tremendous feint and the play ends in a goal. Dimitri Payet knows this very well. If there are any doubts, let's watch this YouTube video.
The French midfielder for Olympique Marseille amazed with a fantastic goal this Tuesday, in a match for the 21st round of Ligue 1 against Strasbourg. Dimitri Payet faced the goalkeeper after a good pass and, from the edge of the area, made a feint that ended up injuring Oukidja.
The visiting goalkeeper suffered an injury, apparently in his right knee, so he had to be replaced and carried off on a stretcher. Dimitri Payet, after leaving the opponent on the ground, had everything at his disposal to score the final 2-0, which allowed the victory at Velodrome Stadium, as seen on YouTube.
Cameroonian Clinton Njie (79) and French international Dimitri Payet (87) were the authors of the goals that gave Marseille the three points. With this victory, the team led by Rudi Garcia, reaches 44 points, 11 behind PSG, the leader but already ahead of their two rivals for the Champions League spots, Monaco and Lyon.
The victory was not easy for Marseille, who went from bad to good, with a dominance of the game that intensified as the minutes passed, even though it took them a while to convert it into goals.
Marseille even missed a penalty with the score still goalless. Goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja guessed the shot from Valere Germain and stopped the striker's shot (72).
But seven minutes later, Njie finally found a way to beat the Strasbourg goalkeeper, taking advantage of a rebound inside the box, and Dimitri Payet sealed the victory in a one-on-one with the rival goalkeeper.
