Manchester United recovers second place in Premier League
Yesterday, Manchester United provisionally regained the second place in the English Premier League standings, which was taken by Chelsea, by defeating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park, with goals from Frenchman Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.
The team led by Portuguese José Mourinho, who had accumulated three consecutive draws, improved their performance in the second half and managed to win the match against a very determined Everton, but with few attacking resources.
Six minutes after Spanish Juan Mata hit the post, Anthony Martial opened the scoring in the 57th minute with a well-placed shot from outside the box after a quick counterattack by his compatriot Paul Pogba, who was very active throughout the match.
After facing some difficulties against Everton's final reaction, United sealed the match nine minutes before the end with a great goal from Jesse Lingard after a personal play in which he broke through the opponent's defense to shoot across and out of reach of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
With this victory, United returns to second place with 47 points, twelve behind the leader, Manchester City, who today receives Watford, and two more than Chelsea, who tomorrow visits Arsenal and can regain the position of the main pursuer of Pep Guardiola's team.
Victory without two aces
Liverpool, who did not have Brazilian Philippe Coutinho or Egyptian Mohamed Salah in the list of players called up by German coach Juergen Klopp, won 2-1 at Burnley thanks to a goal in the 94th minute from Estonian Ragnar Klavan.
Senegalese Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool with a left-footed shot to the top corner from outside the box in the 61st minute, but Burnley managed to equalize with a goal from Icelandic Johann Gudmundsson in the 88th minute.
With time running out, Liverpool had to resort to the epic and got their reward in injury time, when Ragnar Klavan headed in a pass from Dejan Lovren after a foul to secure the third consecutive victory for the Reds, who remain in fourth place in the Premier League with 44 points. - EFE

The team led by Frenchman Claude Puel remains in eighth place in the table, while the team led by American David Wagner remains in eleventh place.
In the opening match of the fixture, Bournemouth had to come from behind twice, with goals from Steve Cook (m.33) and Callum Wilson (79), to draw 2-2 at Brighton, who took the lead through Anthony Knockaert (5) and Glenn Murray (48), to place themselves thirteenth, three points away from the relegation zone and one behind their Monday's opponent.
After losing to Manchester City and drawing with Brighton, the Newcastle of Spanish coach Rafa Benitez returned to the path of victory on Monday by defeating Stoke thanks to a solitary goal from his compatriot Ayoze Pérez in the 73rd minute, tapping in a cross from the right by Jacob Murphy.
Premier League: "Chicharito"
Javier Hernández wants to have more playing time with West Ham in the Premier League.
Hernández is not satisfied
The Mexican knows that, like any other player, he does not like being on the bench. "If you ask all the footballers in the world, they will tell you that they don't like being on the bench and that's something normal. Everyone wants to play and I am trying to show that I want more minutes," he commented.
With full commitment
"Chicharito" made it clear that he will always give his all for the "Hammers" whether he plays one minute or the full 90. "I will always give everything for the team whenever I am on the field," considered the Mexican attacker.
