Ancelotti speaks out on Bayern Munich dismissal
Just a few months after his dismissal, Carlo Ancelotti spoke out on why he felt practically out of Bayern Munich. The coach, who does not plan on coaching the Italian national team in the near future, confessed that the locker room did not trust him and that the Bayern leadership, who had supported him last season, did not defend him against the players' accusations regarding his work methods and his relationship with them.
“When the leaders do not protect their coach, it means he is dead. That is exactly what happened to me in Munich. They asked me to change my work method, which I immediately rejected”, stated Ancelotti to TZ Munich, adding “What do you do when important players rush to the management office to express their frustration and are protected by their bosses? As a result, the coach no longer has credibility in the locker room. It is impossible to recover from that”, said the former Real Madrid coach.
Carlo Ancelotti, dismissed from the German team due to poor results, said he was honored that the Italian leaders see him as the right man to replace Ventura, who was dismissed after Italy unexpectedly failed to qualify for the World Cup.
“It would be a completely different job. I want to continue coaching at clubs. I still enjoy training and working every day”, said Carlo Ancelotti explaining his reasons for rejection.
“Italian football has some problems and I don't think I can solve them on my own. The entire system is what needs to be changed”, added Ancelotti on the program Domenica Sportiva from Rai network.
Carlos Ancelotti, 58 years old, is one of Europe's most successful coaches. He won the Champions League with AC Milan and Real Madrid, as well as local leagues in Italy, England, France, and Germany.
