The play came in the second half. It all started with a foul kick by Marcus Rashford directly into the goal. Mile Svilar stopped the ball, but in his effort he stepped back two steps and the ball ended up crossing the goal line.
Manchester United started the match drowsy, but gradually stretched and in the 36th minute had the best chance to score: Dutchman Daley Blind outpaced the Lisbon defense and found himself alone against Mile Svilar, but the Belgian goalkeeper shined, preventing the goal.
At 18 years and 52 days, Mile Svilar broke the record of Iker Casillas, who made his debut in the Champions League for Real Madrid on September 19, 1999, at the age of 18 years and 118 days.
However, the youngest player to play a Champions League match remains Nigerian Celestine Babayaro, who played for Anderlecht against Steaua Bucharest (1-1) in 1994 at the age of 16 years and 87 days.
