The youngest goalkeeper to play a Champions League game
Belgian goalkeeper Mile Svilar made a name for himself during the match between Manchester United and Benfica. The 18-year-old became the youngest goalkeeper to play a Champions League match, but unfortunately, he was involved in the goal that led to his team's defeat against 'The Red Devils'.
Goalkeeper Mile Svilar misjudged the free kick taken by Marcus Rashford at the 64th minute. Svilar stretched his arms and controlled the ball, but couldn't stop its momentum, causing him to step backward. The goal was confirmed by the referee through goal-line technology.
After the final whistle and the home team's defeat, Lukaku approached young goalkeeper Mile Svilar to console him. The rest of the United squad also showed their support for the goalkeeper as he wiped away tears with his gloves.
