"Ready for war". That's how Peruvian athlete Jorge 'Karateca' Cuenca defined the fight he will have on October 14 for the bantamweight (61.2 kg) title of the 'Guerra Campal' event against Chilean Gastón Gómez Manzur.

The fight, which will be the main event of the night, is scheduled for five rounds. 'Karateca', a student of Héctor Iberico, will face his second consecutive fight outside the country.

The 20-year-old national fighter defeated Brazilian Adriano 'Pedra' by TKO (technical knockout) at the Náuas Combat (NC) 8 event in Brazil. Currently, Cuenca has a professional MMA record of six wins and two losses.

"This is a great opportunity for me. This is why I've been training,"'Karateca' commented to El Bocón. "I've always been in constant preparation. I've sacrificed a lot for this moment," said the martial artist.

On the other hand, Gastón Gómez Manzur has a record of eight wins and five losses. One of his victims was the Peruvian Luis Chang in March 2016, when he defeated him by split decision. In his last fight, Manzur suffered a loss in September of this year at Shooto 75 in Brazil, at the hands of local fighter Luan Luiz Lacerda (8-1).
