Piqué booed during training session of the Spanish national team
Soccer player Gerard Piqué was booed today by a sector of the fans who attended the training session of the Spanish national team and strongly criticized his stance after the Catalan independence referendum.
As expected, the first training session of the Spanish national team was turbulent and Piqué received a huge boo when he joined the rest of the team.
There were also reproaches against the coach, Julen Lopetegui, for the inclusion of Piqué and his public defense.
"Piqué, asshole, get out of the team" and "Piqué, Spain is your nation" were some of the chants against the Barcelona player during the training session.
In addition, members of the Spanish Civil Guard removed banners against Piqué and others before they were displayed during the training session.

One of the banners could be read as follows: "Piqué, don't leave, I want you to be expelled. You're nauseating."
Piqué reignited the nationalist controversy on Sunday by declaring to the press with tears: "I'm proud of the Catalan people. It's been my worst experience," referring to the referendum and the police action of the State forces.
And he added: "If the coach or any federation executive believes that I am a problem or a bother in the team, I have no problem stepping aside and leaving the team before 2018."
