The Brazilian Neymar was left out of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) squad, who will face Montpellier in the French league on Saturday, due to discomfort in his foot, according to French media.
Neymar, 25, is at the center of controversy due to his dispute with the Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, with whom he argued last Sunday to decide who would take a penalty in the match against Lyon (2-0).
According to local media, the blow to Neymar's foot should not compromise his participation in the Champions League group stage match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
In five league matches in France, Neymar has scored four goals and provided four assists.
The press believes that the absence of the 'Canarinho' forward is not due to a PSG warning regarding Neymar's attitude towards Cavani, but rather as a precautionary measure to ensure that their star arrives fresh on Wednesday.
However, Neymar's exclusion caused surprise, as Spanish coach Unai Emery had not mentioned that the forward was carrying any discomfort.
