Director of Bayern Munich reprimands Franck Ribery for his reaction after being substituted

The Sporting Director of Bayern Munich, Hasan Salihamidzic, publicly criticized the Frenchman Franck Ribery for his reaction after being substituted in the Champions League match against Anderlecht on Tuesday.

"That shouldn't happen at Bayern Munich. It's not right. We will talk about it," Salihamidzic said on Tuesday night after the German champion's 3-0 victory at home.

The 34-year-old French footballer visibly threw his shirt angrily towards the bench after being replaced by Thomas Muller in the 78th minute of the match.

The Bayern coach, Carlo Ancelotti, also expects an explanation from the player. "I will ask him why he reacted like that," said the Italian at the press conference afterwards.

"Sometimes players don't understand my substitutions," he indulgently stated. Regarding his decision, the coach explained that it had nothing to do with being unhappy with Ribery's performance. "Ribery's performance was good. It was not because of that. He did not train on Sunday and therefore I wanted to give him a break," he said.
