The golden generation of Chilean soccer

The Chilean soccer will always remember the 'golden generation' that has brought important joys with the conquest of the Copa America 2015 and the Copa America Centenario 2016, but the present of the Chilean National Team seems complicated and the former coach of this elite group of players, Jorge Sulantay, makes an explosive revelation about the physical performance of Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.

Jorge Sulantay ensures that he knows well the references of the squad, as he had them from their beginnings between 2003 and 2007. In an interview with the sports media La Cuarta, the 77-year-old man gave his opinion on the 3-0 defeat against Paraguay and launched against the Arsenal and Bayern Munich players.

"I see Alexis Sanchez overweight and fat. And a player of his caliber cannot lose his physical condition. But well, he came from vacation with his new girlfriend, a normal life, but he is not normal", Jorge Sulantay said. In addition to his physique, he also highlighted that the situation he is experiencing in the English club distracted him from his goal when presenting himself to the qualifying matches with the national team:

"Alexis Sanchez was more concerned about his situation at Arsenal and now that he was not transferred, he will have serious problems. If he doesn't perform well, the English press will destroy him", added Jorge Sulantay. On the other hand, the pioneer of the national team managed by Marcelo Bielsa, Jorge Sampaoli, and recently Juan Antonio Pizzi, indicated that "Arturo Vidal's situation is repetitive. He doesn't take care of himself, he is a player of caliber but he must think that he will not always be a star", he commented.

"The own goal has nothing to do with it (...) One thing is to be good for soccer and another is to be intelligent in life (...) His career will end soon and it can end badly. That makes me sad, more than angry it is sadness", sentenced the former coach of Arturo Vidal in the Chilean under 20 national team.

This Tuesday, September 5th, 2017, the Chilean National Team will visit Bolivia for matchday 16 of the South American qualifiers and is obliged to win to continue dreaming of qualifying for the 2018 Russia World Cup.
