YouTube. On the fifteenth day of the South American Qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the Uruguay and Argentina teams played the most anticipated match; however, they only managed to draw without goals.
Peruvian referee Víctor Hugo Carrillo was in charge of officiating the match and was involved in controversy in the second half after being confronted by players from both teams.
It all happened when midfielder Álvaro González fouled Lionel Messi. The Uruguayan was booked, but his teammates immediately ran to the referee to argue, who stood firm in his decision.
Meanwhile, the members of Argentina also approached Víctor Hugo Carrillo to demand that González be sent off.
