Barcelona and the world are in mourning. The Spanish city suffered two terrorist attacks on Thursday that have so far left 14 dead and over a hundred injured. Therefore, one of the emblems of this territory, the club, showed its support and pain towards the victims through a video posted on its YouTube account.
The Catalan team recorded several videos that were compiled into one. It shows the whole team of the main football team, management, president, and other workers of the institution participating in the minute of silence before starting their duties. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano and other figures appeared with bowed heads.
One of the most recognizable faces for Peruvian football was also present in the video. It is the technical director José Mari Bakero, who trained Juan Aurich in 2013 without success. In July 2017, he was presented by Barcelona as its new technical secretary of training football.
The Argentine star Lionel Messi was one of the first to comment on the tragedy via social media. On his Facebook account, he wrote a message sending condolences to the most affected. "We will not give up, there are many more of us who want to live in a world of peace, without hatred, and where respect and tolerance are the foundations of coexistence," he said.
